Brass Warm Up Club
The Brass Warm Up Club meets every Wednesday and Friday morning from 8:15am to 9:00am. The purpose of this group is to teach proper warm up techniques and brass pedagogy. From time to time, members of this group will rehearse as small brass chamber ensembles. Participation is strictly optional, and students may choose what dates they attend. Woodwind students are welcome to sit in to work on their playing technique as well, however the majority of the exercises discussed will primarily pertain to brass instruments.
Also as an added incentive, donuts will be provided to all participating members once a week!
BRASS WARM UP CLUB IS TEMPORARILY ON HOLD DUE TO OUR BUSY UPCOMING SCHEDULE. WE WILL RESUME IN LATE MARCH.

Adolph "Bud" Herseth
The brass world lost one of its greatest contributors and performers on Saturday, April 13th 2013. Herseth performed in the Principal Trumpet Chair of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for 53 years. During his tenure, he performed under some of the finest conductors of the 20th century. His full biography can be found here.
Arnold Jacobs
Arnold Jacobs was one of THE brass pedagogues of the 20th century. This is just one video out of a series, found here. This series (and its presenter) may look really old school, but it's a huge collection of fantastic knowledge that is applicable to any musician.
Roger Bobo
In this clip, Roger Bobo elaborates on Arnold Jacobs' concept of paralysis by analysis by asking a performer to stand up with a bowl of water.
